2.2 - Empty Tabs & Opening Symbols

Empty Tabs

You may want to add empty Content tabs. These can display either scanners or new stocks selected by symbol.

You can add a Tab using the Add icon (). The added tab will be appended to the far right of the tab selector.

Opening Symbols

To obtain stock information about a company, you must know its exact ticker symbol, hereafter referred to simply as the symbol. There are multiple ways to display information about the symbol on the Main Screen:

  • If no tabs are open, enter the symbol in the search box and press Enter, or click on the magnifying glass icon on the Content View Header
    • Note: pressing this icon while a tab is selected will replace the current symbol for that tab
  • Add a Tab using the Add icon and then select the symbol by using the search field as explained above.

Additionally, you may change the symbol on the current tab in one of the following three ways:

  • Double-clicking on the tab head will prompt you for a new symbol.
    • Note: This option will only be available when the tab is docked to the main window.
  • Double-clicking on the symbol in the Content View Body will prompt you for a new symbol.
  • Entering a new symbol in the search field will prompt you on whether you wish to replace the current symbol with the entered value.
    • Note: This option will only be available when the tab is docked to the main window.

Opening symbols is also available from any widget that displays a list of symbols. They can be opened simply by double-clicking on the symbol in the listing. The resulting symbol tab will be added to the far right of the tab selector.

Note: Double-clicking on any field other than the symbol name will have no effect

New symbol tabs open in "Total View" mode by default, which displays all the information widgets in the available space.
