If you experience any of the following issues, it may be related to network problems:
- Freezing
- Crashing
- Misprints
- Stuck in Download
- Error Messages
- Tools or Features not working as expected
Connectivity issues may arise from any of the following:
- ISP reliability, connectivity, and throttling
- Misconfigured personal firewall, antivirus or host-based IPS/IDS
- Misconfigured network appliances, such as the firewall, router
- Being behind a corporate network with strict network enforcement rules
- Active VPN (Virtual Private Network) software, connection or VPN daemon or background services forcing network rules - these services/daemons might need to be disabled
Essentially, something on either your system or your network prevents the client application from accessing the data from our provision servers.
We would suggest trying any of the following, if possible, to determine whether this is a host or networking issue:
- If you have access to a second computer, try installing StocksToTrade on that machine and checking whether you still experience this issue - this would indicate a host problem
- If you have access to an external network or public WiFi, try connecting to StocksToTrade on that network from this computer - this would indicate a network problem
- If you have a VPN solution installed, check whether there are active services that might be impacting your network configuration (i.e., Cisco VPN, OpenVPN, etc...)
